You've heard the old expression, "your home is your largest financial investment." Even in these volatile economic times, for most people, that's still true. After graduating from Hanover College in 1968 and becoming a licensed broker, I quickly learned how important this concept is to all my clients. And I take it very seriously. Because buying or selling a home is so important to you, I approach every client as if you were a member of my own family. That's what my parents taught me; that's what Hanover College taught me, and that's what hundreds of customers have taught me over the past thirty-nine years.
My Professional Background
As you consider hiring a REALTOR, you'll see that most have various designations after their names. GRI, CRS, and CRB for example are the highest awarded by The National Association of REALTORS. To earn each of these professional designations requires hours of study and hard work in continuing education. In addition to holding my Indiana Real Estate Brokers License, I am proud to be included among the less than 1% of all REALTORS who hold all three of these designations: Graduated Realtors Institute, Certified Residental Specialist, and Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager.

Real estate is a personal service business, so you should feel completely comfortable with the person you hire. Not only should your REALTOR be knowledgeable and skilled in finance, contracts, marketing, and negotiating, but also, he or she should demonstrate personal qualities, including a genuine concern for your ideas and feelings, attention to detail, commitment to communicating with you, and thorough knowledge of the real estate market you are in. Get recommendations from family and friends; check the person's background and history in the real estate business; ask for and contact the agent's references.
